Well as a combat flight sim vet I learned most of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_fighter_maneuvers#BFM_principles + the physics simply cos not knowing it meant getting shredded. Tended to get shredded anyway but there you go.
If you can implement a bit of that in your jet flying in BF3 (simplistic as it is) you will utterly dominate the air and be free to rake the ground with all sorts of nasty death.
I'm planning on making a video to demo some of it too (haven't had one great dogfight yet lol).
Just thought you might find it useful to round our your vehicle play. maybe not but you never know.
